Did you know in Arizona you renew your license at age 65. Not some tax hungry big brother government mark Dayton trash- 4 year intervals. Here's another tidbit, the roads in this town are in the rankings for worst conditions in the state... wonder where all that money goes?
-Update. After waiting 2.5 hours, I was able to find out it was their fault, which did not surprise me. What did was, they were able to fix the problem, and assured me I'd get my payment next week. I tried telling them I was out of food now, so the woman I spoke to told me to wait, and they'd be able to help me. After waiting another hour and a half, I met with another woman, who told me they couldn't help me.
We luckily weren't in a county that HAD to go to the Minneapolis office so we made the drive to the St Cloud office thinking it would be less of a wait.... boy were we right. Two of us getting replacement SSN cards and we were in and out in under 20 minutes around 11AM. Highly recommend.
Wait times can be long on the phone and it can be frustrating not having a direct number to the local office--however, just think, if you were in the lobby waiting at your local office and they kept taking calls from other people, you most likely would not get to even talk to someone and have to come back another time; which in turn would make more people upset, while the lines for local offices would be even LONGER then they are now. (Just something to think about.)
None of them are on the same page, and they're dangerously incompetent.
I visited this office 3 times regarding an issue I had with direct deposit. Each time, they came up with something new I suddenly needed to bring that I did not have with me, and they did not mention it the day before, when I called to confirm that I had everything that was required. I just found out today that what I set up two months ago still somehow didn't work. I called, and I was told they had none of the information I gave them 3 times prior, and insisted I needed to go back to the office again. I am absolutely disgusted, not to mention in financial trouble due to their mistakes. I don't understand why they are so callous and uncaring regarding the lives of people who desperately need their services, but they are. It feels extremely futile, but I'm going to go back a 4th time.
-2nd Update. It's now Monday of the following week. I called my bank and the number listed again. I was informed that after they send the amount, it takes up to 5 business days to go through, so I'd get it this Friday. I'm afraid for my well-being and my ability to continue living where I'm living. I tried explaining my situation again, and they didn't care.
A prime example of how America treats the ones who pay for such a trashy government to exist. Did you if you were here legally, and not a citizen the amount of hand outs you get readily thwarts any thoughts of obtaining citizenship. I'm talking about free tuition when I'm 25k in debt after having paid taxes all my life. And the fact the my banker friend was previously a progressive standoffish (when it came to confrontation and debates), now readily speaks out against immigrants who have no intent of gaining citizenship, because they get more free money and handouts than any other group in society even if they're an effing doctor. There are no salary caps, just one stipulation and it's noncitizen. I'm talking about not being taxed and being given 10k strictly for not being a citizen once per year. Moreover about not paying taxes, they still get tax returns in conjunction with the previously stated 10k hand out. They get mortgages for 40% of what it should be, and there's nothing forcing them to end the abuse of the system- just life long freeloaders. Meanwhile families of 10 generations like the lady below are going hungry at the hands of tax collection agencies- those who pamper the wallets of the un-tax paying groups.
