I am not going to be a huge jerk the whole time. I like the pizza. His sauce was good and the he had a really wide variety of toppings that were all good quality. his specialty pizzas had a good combination too: The Barnstormer, PISMO, Taco Pizza. But I would only order and eat it if I knew the ingredients had just come in that day. This is why...
Pretty damn good pizza. Cheese bread was decent. Staff was very polite and professional.
Not trying to get too personal, and this doesn't have to do with the food. I got upset and expressed my feelings to the owner about not getting paid on time. it was about a 50/50 chance if we got paid on time. A went in the next day and he brought me into the cellar with his stepson and Girlfriend (both worked there) and yelled at me. "What's your problem?!" "Are you Serious?!" ended it with, "I don't want to see you for the next 2 weeks. until you get your act together and figure out if you still want to work here." I never went back. Later in the year I needed a health insurance form filled out by the state of MN. The owner said I was fired on the form....
If you're looking for a divey pizza place with premium prices, look no further! The shop smells like mildew, the wooden booths have names carved all over them, the carpet has stains, the owner is rude to his employees, which is all well and good for a dive joint, but the prices are House of Pizza prices. We ordered thin crust but got regular. We were the only customers, and our pizza still took over an hour. The toppings did seem to be of better fare than your average pizza joint, and our server was very friendly, but I almost certainly will not be returning.
P.S. Is there still a "NOW OPEN!" sign outside? lol
Great place for a cheap pizza!
Terrible. I ate here, and worked here for about 6 months. The owner was a joke. Never had ingredients for the items on his menu. People would order a roast beef sandwich and the owner would have to run to the store to get roast beef and bread. Setup an all you can eat pasta bar that flopped hard. there would be like 6 people.
This was my favorite pizza place as a kid, when they were in their old location over by Saver's, but time hasn't been kind, and their competition has improved substantially while things have stayed the same here.
Sorry I can't say many good things about this place, but it was never really a good place to dine/work at. I think he has a TON of work to do still, years later in order to make that a decent place.
The way the man works and the way he took care of the ingredients were sad. He had a cold table that would die on him pretty often, compromising the integrity of the ingredients almost everyday. He refused to get a new one or just get it fixed. Don't get a burger there. The beef just sits in a metal container in the fridge for days.
The buffet is a joke—you might be able to catch it if you show up right as it starts—they seem to open, close and operate on a clock that varies by a few hours from the real time, and nobody seems to want to be here, either the employees or the owner.
