I have been going to the Nystrom & Associates, Ltd. office in St. Cloud since it opened. I am very satisfied with my provider, Margie Lewis. She is a very good therapist, compassionate and kind. Medication management here for me, however, is terrible. My psychiatrist that I was seeing previously suddenly quit practice and I was sent scrambling for someone else to take over my care. Nystrom had a psychiatrist in office that I was on a wait list for for almost a year. In the mean time, I was stuck with someone that wasn't a good fit and I had to see him over a computer monitor. I finally got to meet with my current doctor, and was very happy meeting with him in person. He is incredibly knowledgeable and very helpful. Soon after getting in to see him, he moved away and I now have to see him through a computer monitor as well. I hate it. There is a bit of lag and it is hard to communicate. It is uncomfortable and feels very detached. Without doctors in office, and terrible communication between staff, medication refills here have been a complete nightmare! Four times I have been without neccessary medication because of some mistake or misunderstanding with the nurse. I am frequently forced to call and find out why they are sitting on a medication refill request. For dependable medication management, go anywhere else.
If you don't have your own vehicle or means of transportation that's 100% assured to get you to your appointments on time every time, they will charge you close to 100 dollars per appointment. My therapy was me sitting in a room making small talk for an hour, I don't think the person assigned to me was even interested in making progress. This has only confirmed my belief that mental health, or any healthcare, for that matter, is reserved exclusively for those who have more money than others. I was given a medication that the psychiatrist told me would be much safer and healthier than my previous one. It did absolutely nothing, except give me hives that itched to the point where I tore my skin open from scratching them. If you're well-set in finances and have good insurance and your own car, this place might be for you. If you're below the poverty line, unable to work, and have to choose between paying 100 dollars for being late, or eating for the week, stay as far away as possible.
Lots of paperwork, but the staff and Doctor were all very friendly, informative and professional.
The staff was so warm and welcoming, and my provider listened carefully to all my concerns and helped me.
I was diagnosed at a young age and was put on medication and stable before seeing Nystroms Dr . he filled my prescription and when I ran out he refused to re fill my medicine setting me back after being steady for so long. Setting me back. This is unprofessional and I don't appreciate it. He should of requested testing then gave me my medicine. Not re fill my medicine then when time for a re fill deny you. I can't believe this.
