Husband bought a new car and they did not follow through with a single promise. They forgot to refund our deposit on the car, forgot to give us the $100 referral credit, didn't get our ancillary items on time (and WE had to call and check on them, never got a call), still have not seen our reimbursement for my husband having to put all the parts on himself, gave him the wrong parts TWICE, management won't return a single phone call, promised us a $50 gas card but couldn't give it to us because "that guy isn't working today"!?, didn't go over a single feature in our new car... Worst experience EVER.
Bottom line? #savethemanuals is important to me. But I'll order the next one locally and pay the premium (opposed to an in-stock car) and save myself the mild road trip; doing so I won't have to deal with Chris Abel's bad bedside manner.
Kudos to Tommy at the dealership for a quick and easy transaction that saved a lot of time and hassle on both sides.
When I visited the dealership, everything was exactly as promised. No surprises. Delivery was very fast, without being rushed.
I drove from east-central Wisconsin to pay cash for a manual-transmission Forester since the car (a manual Forester Premium) was one of four examples among dealerships in northern Wisconsin, Minnesota and Michigan's Upper Peninsula. This was clear my in emails and my phone conversations. When I arrived (in a stick-shift Honda with 250K miles on the odometer), Chris made many comments like "too bad you didn't get the automatic," and "you know how to drive a manual, right?"
The sales person, Nick M. was very good. He stayed within our price range, showed us exactly what we requested to see, and was able to answer all our questions. If he was not 100% positive of the answer, he would find out the answer. My wife and I have been very pleased and impressed with his professionalism and knowledge.
Nick was outstanding, worked with us to make the entire buying experience pleasant and pain free. Did not feel pressured during any step of the process.
I called for a price over the phone. They gave me the best price I could find, and it only took 3 phone calls. Competing dealerships haggled much more, but eventually reached a similar price anyway. I appreciated getting to the bottom line fast with St. Cloud Subaru.
In short: the people I worked with were courteous, respectful, and professional. Will recommend to everyone I know!
Fair prices, but Chris Abel is a bit inattentive to buyer desires.
